Building communities and helping families create
memories is what we do best at Colorado Rural Housing
Development Corporation (CRHDC) and Colorado Housing
Enterprises (CHE).
Since 1971, we have helped more than 1,500 families
achieve their dream of home ownership. We have also
provided the tools and resources necessary for low- and
moderate-income individuals and families to find safe
and affordable rental housing.
Our affordable housing options allow families to pursue
and achieve goals and create happy memories of home and
family. By creating this stability, safe and
affordable housing builds stronger communities.
Largely untouched by the economic boom of recent years,
the rural southern Colorado cities of Center, Del Norte,
Hayden, and Fountain benefit tremendously from the
affordable rental housing we provide. We also offer
families the opportunity to work alongside a contractor
to build a home of their very own. Our newest self-help
housing location is in Monte Vista at the Tierra del Sol
sub-division.
To further increase home ownership opportunities
throughout Colorado, including the metro Denver area,
CRHDC affiliate Colorado Housing Enterprises (CHE)
provides low interest loans (always at least one percent
below market rate, and often as low as two to three
percent below market rate) as well as down payment
assistance to qualifying families that earn between 80
percent and 115 percent of the area median income. Since
its inception in 1996, CHE has partnered with banks,
government entities, and corporations to loan more than
$38 million in first mortgages to nearly 300 families.
