CRHDC Celebrates its First NSP Closing
When Obediah McWhite started looking at homes, he was nervous about some of the places he saw in his price range. “They needed a lot of work,” he said. Now, he can’t stop smiling. He’s a homeowner of one of the newly rehabbed, energy-efficient homes for income-qualified households through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). “I never dreamed I would be able to own something this nice,” he said. “I love my new place.”
Since this first closing, two other properties have closed and now have new homeowners, and six recently completed NSP properties are under contract. An additional 12 houses are complete and are also listed for sale. Check the CRHDC NSP Page for information on all NSP properties.
Six Self-Help Homes Completed in the San Luis Valley
On July 15th, CRHDC celebrated the completion of six Self-Help Homes in Alamosa and Monte Vista with an Open House at the home of Koralia De Lara. Over the past forty years, CRHDC has taken part in the construction of over 1600 Self-Help homes. Congratulations to all of the new homeowners!
CRHDC Launches New Program for Buyers' Agents
CRHDC is launching a new buyer's agent education program in August to spread the word about the benefits of participating in the NSP2 program. The goal of the program is simple: reach out to agents so they can help to explain the NSP2 program to more qualified buyers. Through this program, CRHDC hopes to get more qualified homeowners started on the process of buying an NSP home. The first "Lunch and Learn" will be held at the American Title Services office in Lakewood on Thursday , August 4th. Please email Robin Wolff if you are interested in participating. Stay tuned for a session in the San Luis Valley.

CRHDC will be releasing a more comprehensive, printed version of its newsletter in August. Please contact Robin Wolff if you would like to receive a copy. |
