CRHDC has developed an innovative Lease to Own program utilizing new construction and purchase-rehab homes. The program is called LEO, or Learn, Earn, and Own. In a credit challenged market, CRHDC accepts future homeowners with credit impediments that make them unable to qualify for a quality mortgage today. Participants Learn about homeownership and personal finances by attending Homebuyer Education and Financial Fitness classes, and work with credit counselors to implement a plan that will have them mortgage ready in 12-24 months. During the construction or rehab phase, participants earn sweat equity by assisting with building or improving the home, which reduces their eventual purchase price.
